BEST Flat Screen TV Wall Mounts!

In 2010, in almost every American household a big, wide screen high definition television set can either be found in the living room, or is a much desired appliance that hasn’t been purchased because of the high cost or the sheer bulk of the biggest ones. More and more television programming is in high definition.

The cost of seeing a movie at a theater is getting to be expensive enough that many prefer to watch their films on DVD, while trying to duplicate theater quality as much as possible by using a large hd set and blu-ray discs. In addition, dad’s consumer camcorder is increasingly likely to shoot videos in high definition with a sixteen by nine format. The old style small, squarish TVs just do not do all this high definition, wide screen content justice.

For those holding back because of price, the good news is that prices are getting more reasonable for even one of the larger HD sets. And for those who are wondering how to fit one of these things in the living room, almost all sets these days are just a few inches deep, and flat screen TV wall mounts are becoming much more common and easy enough to install that you don’t need to hire someone to do it for you. You should be able to mount a TV on your wall in about an hour, and a flat screen TV wall mount is not very expensive.

First, get an aftermarket mount to save money. You can get a good one with a swivel for about $60. Flat screen TV wall mounting involves first finding studs in your wall with a stud finder, unless you have a concrete wall. Mark the spots on two studs where you want to drill your holes. Use a socket wrench to screw the wall portion of the bracket into the studs with heavy-duty lag screws. Use a level to make sure your flat screen TV wall mount bracket is completely straight; you do not want to have to re-do this step!

Next, remove the stand from the set, and attach the other part of the mount to the back of the TV. If it is an aftermarket mount, you may need to experiment to find the right washers and bolts. Several sizes should come with your mount. Then comes the hard part, lifting up the TV and securing it to the mount. Use at least two people for this. Check that your flat screen TV wall mount swivel is working properly, and give the set some light tugs. One other thing you can do is hiding the cables, either inside the wall or with a cable cover you can buy.
