So you have your new LCD TV and are really excited about setting it up. However, how do you choose which type of mount to use? There are a few different LCD TV wall mounts to choose from which is certainly helpful, but can also make it a bit confusing. The standard low-profile wall mounts for LCD TV are the most commonly used. These are the easiest mounts to install and the process is quick, taking about as much time as it would for you to mount a picture on your wall. Although they do not do anything fancy like move or tilt around, if you just want your television to be stationery on the wall this mount will definitely be enough.
On the other hand if you want your television to tilt so you can move it up and down you need a tilting wall mount, which would be ideal for a room like the bathroom where you want the screen to tilt down so you can see it better. This is the type of mount typically used on televisions in restaurants and bars, where the televisions are actually a bit higher up and the screen needs to position down so people can see them.
The tilting mount is a bit more challenging to install but still quite simple. These mounts should be placed on the wall about a foot higher than you would put a normal mount. This will give space for the television to mount downwards.
There is also a wall mount for LCD TV, which actually allows you to spin the television all the way around. These are more complicated to install and a bit pricier too but they definitely have the most modern and fun appeal to them.
Decide on the type of LCD TV wall mount that would work best for you and for the room you plan to have the TV in. You need the mounting brackets as well as some screws and a screwdriver or power drill, whichever you prefer. Make sure you mark a spot on the wall where you want the brackets before using any tools. It is always best to measure twice before making any holes in the wall.
