Whether you are remodeling your home, or construction a new house, if you are located in a colder climate, you are going to want to have a fireplace installed. You no longer have to worry about where you are going to get firewood from, or having someone to chop it for you, because with advances in technology over the last 10 years, an electric fireplace has actually become something that most homeowners can enjoy in their living area.
If you are remodeling, you can simply buy a fireplace insert to put in, in place of your existing unit. However, if you are building a new home, your options are opened up a bit more.
Before you go out and buy a new unit, think about the benefits of using an electric fireplace heater, over conventional wood burning fireplaces. First, these units are super simple to clean.. we’ll get to that later. Next, though, you can do away with the smoke, and other smells that some woods may release into your home. Lastly, if you hadn’t thought about it yet, fireplaces are romantic. But who wants to sit in front of one in the middle of the summer? Don’t fret.
When it comes to cleaning up electric fireplace logs, it is a lot easier then older, conventional methods. You no longer have to deal with the ash, and soot that is built up from years of burning logs, as well as being able to relax, without having to worry about random explosions from gases building up inside of the flume.
